First and foremost a massive shout out to everybody who came down for the rukus last year.

To anybody who attended the festival, any of our warms up and reunions, anybody who has handed out flyers and put up posters and even spreading the word across the internet . . . . All the Acts, Promoters, Artists, Site team, Friends & Family. ONE.

Last year saw the birth of something special in 2012. Finally the platform was built to showcase some of the finest talent the UK’s underground hip hop culture has to offer. Unifying like-minded people in one place at one time. The event will be looked at in future years to come as the level set, 2013 you will see us raise the bar.

We just want to show our gratitude and appreciation- the only way we know how!

Banding together the freshest talent from within the UK Hip-Hop scene including MC’s, DJ’s, Producers, Graffiti writers, B-Boys & B-Girls, Beatboxers, Spoken word poets, clothing companies and record labels, for 3 days of straight up positive vibes and most importantly the dopest Hip-Hop music this country has to offer.

Spread across a 3 day weekend Boom Bap Festival plays host to over 100 acts across 7 stages set slap bang in the middle of the UK in the Peterborough countryside. So be prepared for that time of year again, bust out the tent, get on the level and a crack a cold one for festival season will be soon upon us with the Boom Bap Festival ready to open your mind and shatter your perceptions for the second year running!

This year we aim to focus on the festival site and transform the venue you may have seen last year into another world, so far from the first effort you won’t recognize it!

ARENA 1 – The Boom Bap Festival Main Stage

The stage for headline acts, beatbox competitions, record label showcases and a live graffiti showcase scheduled for the Friday. Featuring a host for each day taking control of proceedings, this year, the Saturday see’s UK hip-hop certified G- Disorda, bringing Suspect Packages Live to the main stage!

Suspect Packages have represented the UK’s Hip Hop scene since 1996. Starting with mixtapes, moving on to compilation albums, a radio show (that’s now in it’s 12th year), numerous live events, and of course their online retail store.

It gives us great pleasure to let Disorda & the Suspect Packages team hold down the main stage on Saturday.

Expect the stage to rock with Disorda & DJ Lok bringing the classics through the bass bins, alongside special guests, and plenty of live acts. You know this will be an extra special one with the UK finest up live and personal.

ARENA 2 – Hold it Down Stage

Our secondary stage plays host to three independent Hip-Hop promoters from across the UK taking over for a full day bringing you their own take on the live performance. Featuring headline acts, DJ’s and more unique vibes that each promoters will bring! Keep it locked!!

Featuring the festival promotion skills of Sika Studios, Will not be Televised and Hoochinoo.

Manchester’s primary driving force with all things hip hop come and show us the flavour of WILL NOT BE TELEVISED for a short burst on Friday night 8 – 11pm.

ARENA 3 – SQUARE ONE – The DJ Soundclash

A brand NEW stage for 2013, we want to pay homage to real hip-hop roots and take it back to “square one” where it all started – THE DJ! This unique arena will play host to the finest DJing talent from all over the country including DMC finalists and mix tape favourites! Set up in a reggae soundclash stylee. Think your typical soundlcash with two separate sound systems squaring off against each other! This is the place where the party will really get started! Also the home to Leaf Dog’s beat battles & full break dance demos throughout the weekend!

ARENA 4 – Liquid Diction/Vinyl Discharge/Bar

One of our most exciting prospects for 2013! The main bar area will undertake a makeover transforming this area into a hub for record labels and companies a-like. Playing home to merch stalls from all your favourite UKHH record labels and clothing lines featuring DEPHECT clothing selling the OFFICIAL Boom Bap x Dephect festival t-shirts and more. It will also feature a wide variety of record stores for all the vinyl junkies and producers looking to get deep in the crates! This area will also feature a stage that will host live DJ sessions from the likes of Bozak hosting SMBozak Radio and Disorda recording a Suspect Radio live session.

ARENA 5 – THE REGGAE STAGE

REBEL LION Bring the Reggae vibes for three days strong, this time on the main site of the festival, expect bubbling skank out riddims from this area. Lick off a shot!
